Pingo is the name the guaucho (cowboy) reserves for his horse. Thus, the pingo is always groomed, clean and shiny. He is well fed and kept, and the horse naturally becomes spirited, nimble and dignified; it is proud when it walks, and its movements acquire a fine elegance, which is its owner’s pride. The difference between the ordinary horse and the pingo is that the first is ungraceful and slow, while the second walks erect, sublime and bursting with pride. And that is why we named our chapel “EL PINGO”
